Iran playing key role in NAM revival: Ayatollah Rafsanjani

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Expediency Council Chairman Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani says the Islamic Republic of Iran plays an essential role in revival of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).Addressing a group of EC members, Rafsanjani said successful holding of the 16th NAM Summit in Tehran and the issues, raised in the meeting, helped foreign dignitaries have a clear image of Iran and remove their doubts.He said the meeting also helped Iran play a pivotal role in reviving the Movement.Given the current conditions in the region and the world, such a meeting was successful both quantitatively and qualitatively, opined Rafsanjani. “The events taking place during the meeting were blessed and auspicious and I hope its positive impacts would come further into light in the future,” said the EC chief. /129
